It rained all day

Soggy air in droplets

It rained again the next day

And the next

When it stopped raining

The air was still

Birds came down from the sky

And floated on the water

Tall reeds took flight

Trailing long roots like a comet’s tail

Clouds reflected endlessly

And the sky sank to the ocean floor

Stars shimmered among the waves

Like shoals of fish

The sun joined the moon

And flew away

It rained all day

And nothing was the same again.
