I could close the door

Draw the curtains

Dim the light

Lay my head down

Bow and pray

Breathe and listen to the heartbeat

Lose all memory

Leave no trace

Swim upon the ocean

Float to heaven

And never return…

Art: Frida Kahlo, Without Hope, 1945

I saw your face

It was a dream

It was real

I don’t know

I saw your face

You were here

I missed you

Until the next time

When we are both cats…

Art: Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Boy with a Cat

there is a magical belt

wrapped around the Earth

that only few have access to

it is the escape route

and the signpost

it is the place for lost souls

and for those who know

why they are here

E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle.

And so we came forth, and once again beheld the stars

Art: Ascent of the Blessed (fragment) by Hieronymus Bosch

(…) and it was at that very moment that all the worlds collapsed into one. He was, and then he wasn’t, and the two states existed simultaneously. With here and now no longer valid, he stopped thinking. Forever. He was one.

The end

“The pure present is an ungraspable advance of the past devouring the future. In truth, all sensation is already memory.”

Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

I can hear the past crashing behind me

great chunks of time peeling off

a giant chasm opening up

where my feet once trod

there is no turning back

with time propelling me

faster and faster into the future

as I grasp in desperation for the now

the past rumbling on my heels

what happens if I stop?

will the chasm swallow me?

will the past eat up my present and my future?

how long can I hover on the edge of a precipice

with no turning back?

the future beckons

just as relentless…
